An Bíobla Naofa 1981

A bhréagchráifigh, bain ar dtús an tsail as do shúil féin, agus ansin is fearrde a fheicfidh tú an cáithnín atá i súil do bhráthar a bhaint aisti.

Lúcás 6:42

Ar an ábhar sin níl aon leithscéal agatsa, a dhuine, is cuma cé tú, má thugann tú breith ar dhaoine eile, mar ag tabhairt breithe ar an bhfear thall duit, is tú féin atá do do dhaoradh agat, de bhrí go ndéanann tú féin, an breitheamh, na nithe céanna.

Rómhánaigh 2:1

Lúcás 6 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

39 Agus dúirt sé parabal leo: “An féidir do dhall bheith ina ghiolla i gcionn daill? Nach dtitfidh siad araon sa díg?
40 Níl an deisceabal os cionn an mháistir; ach nuair a bhíonn deireadh foghlamtha aige beidh gach deisceabal mar atá a mháistir.
41 Cad chuige a bhfeiceann tú an cáithnín i súil do bhráthar agus nach n-airíonn tú an tsail atá i do shúil féin?
42 Conas is féidir duit a rá le do bhráthair: ‘A bhráthair, fan go mbaine mé as do shúil an cáithnín atá inti,’ agus nach bhfeiceann tú an tsail atá i do shúil féin? A bhréagchráifigh, bain ar dtús an tsail as do shúil féin, agus ansin is fearrde a fheicfidh tú an cáithnín atá i súil do bhráthar a bhaint aisti.
43 Óir níl crann maith a thugann drochthoradh, ná fós drochchrann a thugann toradh fónta.
44 Óir is ar a thoradh féin a aithnítear gach crann. Óir ní bhaintear fígí de dheilgneach, ná ní phioctar fíonchaor de dhriseog.
45 Tógann an dea-dhuine an dea-rud amach as dea-stór a chroí, agus tógann an drochdhuine an drochrud amach as a dhrochstór. Óir is as iomarca a chroí a labhraíonn a bhéal.

Rómhánaigh 2 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

1 Ar an ábhar sin níl aon leithscéal agatsa, a dhuine, is cuma cé tú, má thugann tú breith ar dhaoine eile, mar ag tabhairt breithe ar an bhfear thall duit, is tú féin atá do do dhaoradh agat, de bhrí go ndéanann tú féin, an breitheamh, na nithe céanna.
2 An breithiúnas, áfach, a thugann Dia ar dhaoine a dhéanann a leithéidí sin, tá a fhios againn go mbíonn sé de réir na fírinne.
3 Ach tusa, a dhuine, a bhíonn ag tabhairt breithe ar na daoine a dhéanann na nithe sin, an é a mheasann tú go n-éalóidh tú ó bhreithiúnas Dé agus tú féin á ndéanamh chomh maith leo?
4 Nó an amhlaidh is beag ort saibhreas a chineáltais agus a fhoighne agus a fhadfhulaingthe? Nach bhfuil a fhios agat gur do do bhrostú chun aithrí atá cineáltas Dé?

English Standard Version

You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye.

Luke 6:42

You have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.

Romans 2:1

Lúcás 6 (English Standard Version)

39 He also told them a parable:
“Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit?
40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.
41 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
42 How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye.
43 “For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit,
44 for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush.
45 The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Rómhánaigh 2 (English Standard Version)

1 Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.
2 We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things.
3 Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?
4 Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?
