An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Ná santaigh bean do chomharsan.

Deotranaimí 5:21

Imíonn an saol agus a mhianta ar ceal. An té, áfach, a dhéanann toil Dé mairfidh seisean go deo.

1 Eoin 2:17

Deotranaimí 5 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

18 Ná déan adhaltranas.
19 Ná déan goid.
20 Ná tabhair fianaise bhréige in aghaidh do chomharsan.
21 Ná santaigh bean do chomharsan; ná bí ag tnúth lena theach ná lena ghort, lena dhaor ná lena dhaoirseach, lena dhamh ná lena asal, ná le haon ní dá chuid.’
22 “Sin iad na briathra a labhair an Tiarna libh go léir i gcomhthionól ag an sliabh; labhair sé libh de ghlór ard ó lar na tine, an néil, agus an dorchadais thiubh. Níor chuir sé aon rud eile leo, ach iad a scríobh síos ar dhá chlár chloiche agus thug dom iad.
23 “Nuair a chuala sibh an glór seo ag teacht as an dorchadas, agus an sliabh go léir trí thine, tháinig sibh chugam, ceannairí bhur dtreibheanna agus bhur seanóirí,
24 agus dúirt sibh: ‘Féach, thaispeáin an Tiarna ár nDia a ghlóir dúinn agus a mhórgacht agus chualamar a ghlór ó chroí na tine. Chonaiceamar inniu gur féidir do Dhia, labhairt leis an duine, agus an duine a fhanacht beo.

1 Eoin 2 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

14 Scríobh mé chugaibhse, a leanaí, mar gur aithnid daoibh an tAthair. Scríobh mé chugaibh, a aithreacha, mar gur aithnid daoibh an té atá ann ó thús. Scríobh mé chugaibhse, a dhaoine óga, mar gur tréan sibh, agus go maireann focal Dé ionaibh, agus gur threascair sibh an mac mallachta.
15 Ná bígí i ngean ar an saol ná ar éadáil an tsaoil. Más áil le duine an saol níl grá an Athar ann.
16 Mar a bhfuil sa saol – mian na colainne, agus mian na súl agus mórtas maoine – sin nithe nach den Athair iad ach den saol.
17 Agus imíonn an saol agus a mhianta ar ceal. An té, áfach, a dhéanann toil Dé mairfidh seisean go deo.
18 A chlann liom, is é an ré dheiridh é, agus faoi mar a chuala sibh go raibh an tAinchríost le teacht, agus cheana féin tá a liacht ainchríostanna ar fáil – uaidh sin is eol dúinn an ré dheiridh a bheith ann.
19 Uainne amach a ghabh siad; ach níor linn dáiríre iad riamh; mar dá mba linn dáiríre iad, d’fhanfaidís i gcónaí linn. Ach d’fhág siad sinn le go mba léir nár linn dáiríre iad uile.
20 Agus tá ungadh oraibhse ón Té atá Naofa agus tá an fíoreolas agaibh uile.

You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.

Deuteronomy 5:21

The world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

1 John 2:17

Deotranaimí 5 (English Standard Version)

18 “‘And you shall not commit adultery.
19 “‘And you shall not steal.
20 “‘And you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
21 “‘And you shall not covet your neighbor's wife. And you shall not desire your neighbor's house, his field, or his male servant, or his female servant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.’
22 “These words the Lord spoke to all your assembly at the mountain out of the midst of the fire, the cloud, and the thick darkness, with a loud voice; and he added no more. And he wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.
23 And as soon as you heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, you came near to me, all the heads of your tribes, and your elders.
24 And you said, ‘Behold, the Lord our God has shown us his glory and greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire. This day we have seen God speak with man, and man still live.

1 Eoin 2 (English Standard Version)

14 I write to you, fathers,
because you know him who is from the beginning.
I write to you, young men,
because you are strong,
and the word of God abides in you,
and you have overcome the evil one.
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world.
17 And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
18 Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.
20 But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge.
