Bybel in Afrikaans (1983-vertaling)

Hier op aarde is ek net op u beskerming aangewese.

Psalm 119:19

1 Petrus 1:17

Psalm 119 (Bybel in Afrikaans (1983-vertaling))

16 Ek verlustig my in u voorskrifte, u woord vergeet ek nie.

1 Petrus 1 (Bybel in Afrikaans (1983-vertaling))

16 Daar staan immers geskrywe: "Wees heilig, want Ek is heilig."

English Standard Version

I am a sojourner on the earth.

Psalm 119:19

If you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile.

1 Peter 1:17

Psalm 119 (English Standard Version)

16 I will delight in your statutes;
I will not forget your word.
17 Deal bountifully with your servant,
that I may live and keep your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may behold
wondrous things out of your law.
19 I am a sojourner on the earth;
hide not your commandments from me!
20 My soul is consumed with longing
for your rules at all times.
21 You rebuke the insolent, accursed ones,
who wander from your commandments.
22 Take away from me scorn and contempt,
for I have kept your testimonies.

1 Petrus 1 (English Standard Version)

14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance,
15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,
16 since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
17 And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile,
18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold,
19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.
20 He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you
